David Knott

David is a global consultant, entrepreneur and semi-retired senior pharmaceutical and chemical industry executive, who enjoys sharing his management experience with clients on an advisory basis. His leadership experience and technical versatility have created innovative business opportunities, significant cost-savings, profitability and long-term revenue generation. 

 

Building consensus and executing corporate vision is critical in a competitive international environment. Achieving that requires an understanding of geographical and cultural boundaries. David has managed operations and integrated business acquisitions  on four continents. He is comfortable working in English, German, Danish or French and has worked around the globe.

 

He has played a critical role in aligning operations and business strategy to create a shared vision resulting in sustained growth and long-term resilience. During his tenure with Mylan Pharmaceuticals, David served in a variety of executive leadership roles, including Head of Scientific Affairs for OTC and Brands. Following the acquisition of Abbot and Meda,  he established the global R&D organization integrating the best staff and practices into Mylan. Prior to that he served in multiple Vice President, Director and other management roles for Mylan, Merck Generics, H. Lundbeck A/S, ICI Advanced Materials, and others, including the integration of international operations, packaging, manufacturing and R&D.

 

David has always been an internal strategic decision maker who innovates by bridging global technical and commercial operations. David has played key roles in building profitable ventures from the ground up. As Vice President Chemistry and COO, he helped lead entrepreneurial pharmaceutical start-up Zealand Pharma, which developed new peptide-based therapeutics, from start-up through three rounds of venture capital funding totalling €50M achieving a successful IPO in just 12 years.
